However, the possibility of free access to the alien world in your scenario might result in the establishment of a colony within the alien world, supplied from Earth, where people could move to be human again. (That idea, on the other hand, raises the interesting possibility that Eric and Peter might drive right back into unaffected Earth, where Eric would simply change back into skunk-girl form...) My idea was more that the two places would join into one, but be wholly connected to Earth, but that would put a hard limit on the window for exploration at the point when Riley finishes doing what she's doing...
