It kinda seemed like that, what with the whole attack thing. But it's basically gonna be okay soon enough, I think - mind you, Lucas and Cass call them klansmen because they want to, basically, attack them socially. Of COURSE, the whole hood and nooses theme kinda helped them drive the point home, and they were glad to oblige. Both Cass and Lucas see this as a social combat - not violence, mind you (in Lucas's case, not violence unless necessary), but an attempt to get tha Purifiers to stop being a bother by shaming and economically pressuring them.

And to be sure, i still think there's some mistaken interpretations of Lucas - as I said, she's not evil nor a psycho. Think Akane Tendo from Ranma 1/2 (and even then only in certain issues) rather than Miko Miyazaki from Order of the Stick.
