I guess I'm a bit late to the party with my own entry. (Sorry I had to spend a long- a very very long time thinking about this one). I thought Id provide my version here to see if it has any merit. I don't really want to make the story any more awkward then it has already is, and quite happy with how nothingsp has ended it. But here's my take on it anyway for consideration :)

Edward was annoyed at the setback.. but it didn't matter in the long run. Leading a growing 'cult' was so far, the greatest accomplishment he had. A strong belief, in that the changes being brought about in the world are the result of a great plan. It would continue and spread, and nothing could stop it...

The irony of the whole thing is, there was no way anyone could debate it.

He had to smile just a little. Yes, father Maxwell was a great auditor, but they had already fallen into the trap. By acknowledging his argument, they had granted legitimacy.

He had already won.

That was strange... why were the sounds of the party diminishing? He should be getting closer to them! Did he get turned around? Everything in the grove took on a somewhat surreal look. He glanced at the camera man- but he was gone too.

He then found himself back in the grove. "W-What's going on?" Edward said suddenly very nervous. He wasn't sure why. There was nothing here that could hurt him. Father Maxwell was just a tree! Completely and utterly helpless.

"You are in my grove still," Said Father Maxwell simply. "Un-welcomed."

Edward tensed a bit more. Well whatever... he must have got lost in the bushes. He moved forward, noting how 'loud' the grass sounded under his feet, as he picked up the camera- though no cameraman was in sight. He tried to press a few buttons, but it was out of power. "W-What's going on!"

Father maxwell's voice was emanating everywhere. It was almost as if he existed in every tree, not just the central stalk that had his strange wooden face. "You never left... these are the same woods, but in a different world..."

Another world? Is that possible? Was Father Maxwell messing with his head? "You brought me here against my will!" He would sue him for kidnapping!

The leaves of the tree bristled a little. "You seek debate... but a debate is not on offer. Because there is nothing to debate. One does not argue if the Earth goes round the sun... once we believed it was not so as religious doctrine... and several men, were burned... "

"Galileo," said Edward knowing the story.

"A loss of life... I will not see it happen here..." Strange lights started to glow in Father Maxwell's trunk, and a curious sound of what appeared to be distant chatter emanating everywhere in the forest. "I have learned much in my time, here... and have seen many different people. Though none as you..."

"I'm not afraid of you!" shouted Edward. "I'm leaving..."

The man tried to go past the clearing, nudging himself through thick foliage. He pulled and pushed at all the pieces of wood, noting that some of these trees he had never seen before. Where was everyone? Where was the road? This didn't make any sense!

Then... he found himself back at the clearing.

"You come back once more," Said Father Maxwell. "As expected."

Now Edward was very scared. Was he really trapped here? Did this mere tree have all the power? He looked at those strange lights on the trunk, wondering what power they had...

"Queen Kei Le'Kimi," he spoke reverently. "May I request an audience," spoke the tree. "it is.. time"

Edward watched wide eyed, as a strange fairy came out of a hole in the trunk. She appeared to be a young girl, and naked... she stretched her light wings and looked around. She noticed Edward and seemed rather shy and timid suddenly of seeing him.

"Hello Father..." Spoke the diminutive fairy, sitting onto a stone. Her wings fluttered again. "You brought... someone from Earth? Does that mean..."

The tree smiled gently. "Yes... as promised. The gateway is now open. Though... I have need of your brood. If it is not going to be too much trouble," His voice was gentle and kind, almost embarrased to make a request.

"You sheltered us and provided a bridge back to Earth... we- I am grateful..." She said softly. "What can we do to return the favour?"

The tree bristled his leaves. "This being is to wonder your realm, until he is enlightened..."

The little fairy floated up to Edward. She noted the shock and surprised he had to see the naked girl. Not to mention an aura of sickness at the display. "Father... I do not believe it possible. His mind is closed..."

"Some thought the same of you, and Father Robert," reminded the tree. "But look at you now..."

The fairy didn't look convinced. Sure.. she knew of herself... but... this was different. This man was not even 'human'... inside. She could see it. This was a monster... a real one.

Edward was practically snarling. "You can't do this! People will realise I have gone!" He shouted throwing the camera at the tree. It impacted but the tree seemed unharmed.

The tree looked back at him, his eyes with not a hint of malice or anger. That was perhaps the most unsettling thing about this situation. "You do not have forever my son... A way back to Earth always exists to you- if you do not change your ways. Roots will grow, and you shall return back to Earth, in another form. You will then have centuries... to re-consider."

"WHAT!" Edward practically fell into a panic as he looked down at his feet. Nothing seemed to be wrong but... "This is madness!"

"As I said... it's not up for debate." Father Maxwell said sadly. He then turned to Queen Kei le'Kimi.

The little fairy looked with trepidation. "I... I can really return to Earth now?"

"Yes... your penance has ended. I only ask that... I would like your brood, to 'play' with the people they see, outside... all of them. Even those who's hearts are filled with hatred. Douse that hatred, and make them feel as children again."

"It will be done All-Tree," said Kimi blushing a bit. "I think they will want to do that anyway... but... if these people are as closed minded as he is, they will not remember true fairies when we leave..."

The tree sighed. "I know... and it does not matter... sometimes, a dream can be quite... enlightening."

Mike, the camera man wasn't quite sure how he ended up away from the Grove. But it looked like something more interesting was going on. There were strange motes of light all around them...

Everyone just stared at the strange glowing lights. Robert blinked, unable to believe the sight, As did the devil changed, and the protesters. Boards were dropped at the surreality of it all. There was shock and wonder. Even the Angelic beings were taken in by the sight.

Jay looked wide eyed. "Mike! Are you getting this!" She called eagerly. They had to video tape this!

Mike tried to get his camera... but he couldn't find it. Crap! Where did his camera go! The strange lights started to dance and play with the changed, and it was as if the mood changed... suddenly everyone was mingling with each other, entranced and enchanted by the whole situation.

The fox girl approached one of the strange lights, trying to see what was in it... and was surprised to perceive what seemed to be a young child. "H-Hello?" She asked.

The little child giggled, and kissed Jay on her nose.

The three tailed fox blushed, and the light orb started to dance around her.

Queen Kimi held her husband's hand as she stepped out from a leaf.

"This is... Earth?" Asked Farin. "The world of before?"

Kimi nodded. "My... old world," She said softly. "I have missed it... but it looks so different to what I remember."

Farin glanced about at the strange structures. Wood? Metal? Other materials he had no idea what they were for... yet humans appeared to have a certain 'logic' about how they arranged things, it was still baffling to the fairy. He chuckled at the sound of laughter from the children and the feeling of delight among the people. "The children are happy to have new ones to play with," said Farin smiling.

"None of them will remember us though?" Asked Kimi.

"Some might... it depends on how much of a child they are inside." Farin explained. "Those who have a taste of magic will also remember us... even into adulthood."

Kimi nodded. Existing as she had for a hundred years had been a very strange thing indeed. Having become the new Queen of the fey for the Earth World was one of the strangest charges she could have ever have been given. Her old life... she still remembered but... right now, she couldn't be happier to be back.
