Eh...Episode submitted by nothingsp on Wed Nov 30 03:16:14 2011 Return to Parent Episode Well, it's certainly true that he had a lapse in ethics there, and I imagine there's going to be some questions coming his way (after all, the damage to the lab's test chamber isn't going to just explain itself, and Muriel might put two and two together and come up with -4.) But for as much as he really shouldn't have done that, he didn't intend any harm by it, and I don't see how he could really be held responsible for anything beyond negligence in failing to obtain permission to take a loose hair as a sample - he didn't have a hand in the creation process (and the guy who did was acting under external influence,) and he certainly had no way of knowing or anticipating what the potential consequences might be. At worst he's a dupe who shouldn'tve let his own goals get in the way of his better judgement. (I kind of tend to avoid "authorial punitive action" type plot developments, with occasional exception. It just feels too vindictive, especially when exploring the natural in-story consequences often leads to a lot more interesting developments - just my two cents on the matter.) | |
