Look. We sometimes disagree on how a story may or may not go, but I will say this: You are a better writer than me. :) And this isn't me being self-effacing or anything. You plan things carefully, you deal with darker things that are, nonetheless, natural consequences of the situations. What I have going for me is mostly humor and the ability to write characters with a lot of snark, but I have a thing for Mary-Sueing my chars like there's no tomorrow, and I seldom am able to delve into the darker - NECESSARY, mind you, very necessary - aspects of a story that you delve into. When I propose a solution or a plot beginning, it is often heavy-handed, too. This, I need to solve. My eagerness to create some more of a storyline for Lucas (and, specifically, an actual fight scene involving her) may also be a minus about my own skills.

At any rate, you are a good writer. You also managed to find a realistic way for it not to go too dark in one episode (which worked VERY well and was stumping me before; dark was realistic, and your light worked well now, and was equally so).

In short: We'll use the alternate you wrote. Not because the other was bad. It wasn't. It was just as good. Darker, but just as good. You are a good writer. Stop fretting about this, dude, because, well, you're good. :)

If you (or nothingsp or anyone) want to think and suggest here a storyline involving my char, feel free, too. But the fact remains you're a good writer, and I honestly think you are a better one than I am. :)
