Ohhh boy...........

I'm quite a pessimist when it comes to these things, so I tend to defer to nothingsp. My opinions though (for as much as they count.....) it is bleak and it wont be written... but I offer it anyway in the hopes it might generate good story.

General population:

downright afraid, fearful, concerned that maybe they are being invaded by beings calling themselves gods. Consider that the sunlight has effectively neutralised much of everyones army. Most have to just deal with things and given it was a world crisis, war's have been put on hold. Suddenly gods appear... I don't see this going well. Paranoia will set in. Why now? Perhaps the gods are recruiting an army... maybe now it all makes sense on why everyone changed.

Most people would hate Cass and Lucus for bringing the attention of Humanity to the Gods, and now every little thing that goes wrong in their daily lives they will get the blame for it. Their names will forever be associated with doom. Religious wars could spring up on a scale not seen before, as Cass and Lucus might become messiah figures.

Some people will feel vindicated by the knowledge, others angry. It will be a case of the religious were right, everyone else was wrong. I hate to say it but suicide rates would probably go up. People who never felt happy with religion will suddenly realise, they have no place in the world.

Leslie is an atheist, and does not believe in magic, the gods, or anything that can not be explained by logic and science. He would consider it a childish and very dangerous prank. He would urge people to dismiss such silly notions. Indeed he advises his daughter on the facts of the moon, not whimsical notions that her friends might have. He does this on the belief that it does more good to tell the truth, then anything else. By and large he would hope for it to just 'go away' and sort out the real problems.

Robert would do her best to try and help people in spiritual crisis, despite having a terrible one herself. Still the events of the past has pushed her and made her strong against a lot of things. She would continue to believe in God, and would do her best in the small things believing that is the best she can do.

Jon herself... would feel incredible disbelief. I don't honestly know quite what she could do, but the burden of what she had done might just be pushed to breaking point. She would have to tell the truth to her parents at the least, and would become one broken slug girl as the events of the world unfolded. It would suddenly become very obvious that the new world has taken a turn for the worst and with everything going on, making everything the way it was before is a small price to pay.
