On the gods...Episode submitted by nothingsp on Mon Jan 2 19:36:15 2012 Return to Parent Episode I'm kind of halfway between the two of you on this. On the one hand, I agree with chompy that the whole issue can get very complicated to write about in depth (part of the reason why I don't care for an explain-how-everything-works approach) and can tend to diminish the natural intrigue of the subject (the other part of the reason.) On the other, I think it's gone mostly all right, so far. I struggled with the idea of Selene having been human initially, but as I think about it I think it actually does make sense for the goddess of Earth's natural satellite to be much closer to humans than other gods would be. So I'm pretty okay with how she's been portrayed. But I do think it's an area where, as a general rule, the less established hard-and-fast, the better. middle is good | |
