He actually tweaked my plans quite a bit and we arrived at the current idea. It'd be ONLY for scientific research (even because the "plots of land" Lucas and Cass got were small and Lucas and Cass both intend to use at least half of each of their plots for themselves), and NONE of the conditions would be specified in the story (save for a vague "thou shalt not oppress or sponsor oppression").
