hmmEpisode submitted by chompy on Sun Jul 24 22:02:24 2011 Return to Parent Episode Right now, I kind of feel like I don't quite know what to do with Cecilia. I had kind of forgotten that A.I. robot type people couldn't "see" the internet and interact with it like the fairies do. I had kind of intended her to be able to in my conception of her, as an "internet liaison" sort of operative. I don't want to try and retcon any rules or anything, but is there some way to possible work around the problem? It's sort of established that she's not like other robots, so who knows. It's a tricky one given the roles that have been set. I'm not sure. I might have a thought but it is (In my opinion) somewhat bad taste of an idea as it deals with the concept of just where life begins (and I myself might not be comfortable with it, but I provide it as an idea to bounce) Suppose Cecelia was pregnant, when she was transformed? Not at the embreyo state, but something really at the edge of human life. Blastocyst stage perhaps. At this stage, the line between two individuals is heavily blurred. She is changed into her artificial form, but what happens to the embryo? One potential fate is that it becomes very much like a digital fairy, but is 'tied' automatically to Cecellia and uses her mindset to understand things. How much individuality the child has would strengthen over time, as the mind and code matures. However since they are so closely part of eachother, they essentially mass sync their data. This entity floats around pretty much 'as' Cecelia, and as long as it has the connection to her she can perceive things as a digital fairy. However the cost is that she is putting a potential new life at risk. It will also be a completely different individual phsyically as time goes by, and the being is defined. (could even be a male child for instance) How's that? A bit strange... I know. But then, everything is strange here. ;) | |
