Okay. Here we have an FBI agent that may be able to help and serve as a sort of liaison between Hiro and the people he disregarded as people before online. Maybe she and Shi - that "program reaper girl", remember? - could help out and smoothen the edges enough for Hiro to get some help? It's not that hard, it's realistic, and it makes the whole thing take a lighter turn.
