I'm with Chompy on the thought that this can be salvaged.

This is radical, but I think maybe just re-winding things a bit, and going over them again might fix our problems. Still keep a lot of the same stuff that's been done, but edit out the bugman-attack, and perhaps tone down Riley's instant solution.

For one thing, has anyone else noticed a bit of a time difference between the locations? Like, ont he alien world, there's been time for a sunset and for people to try and hunker down and such, while it feels like almost no time at all has passed back on earth. A difference between the rate time flows may actually solve the problem, giving Hawkins and Co time to explore, and setting up an added challenge for Riley to reconnect the town with earth. Perhaps requiring her to seek aid from certain natives? Ehhh?

Of course this is just crazy rambling ideas on my part. Whatever you guys think is best I'll follow.
