"Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary" is an old nursery rhyme. Not to be confused with "Mary, Mary" by the Monkees ;)

As far as her intervention with Tiffany, she didn't mention it to the school (arguably she wasn't acting on its behalf,) but she did get permission from Mr. Saunders, who initially requested her help.

I haven't really noticed anything stuck-up about her, though.
