Stacy could point out that, in magical girl series, the heroine's friends are NEVER harmed, at least not permanently. This could be a nice, heart-wrenching way to put Leslie's theory of "based on myths and how they work" to test. It would soften up Abigail's opposition and might well get Leslie to review his position as well both due to softening up said opposition and due to semi-scientific interest.

That and Stacy would also offer to help protect Lilly and all.

Or someone else could interfere. I don't know. I guess I'd just not like to darken the plot too much.
